LANGSTON - .Langston University student-athlete Norbert Ralph IV has been selected as the National Football Foundation - Oklahoma Chapter, College Player of the Year.

Ralph IV was selected from a state-wide nomination of student-athletes and was honored at the 33rd Annual All-Sports and Scholar-Athlete Awards Luncheon at the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and Jim Thorpe Museum in Oklahoma City, Okla.

He was a member of the Langston football team for four years as a quarterback; for his career he tallied 14 touchdown passes to seven interceptions with 1,099 passing yards. On the ground he rushed for 682 career yards with seven touchdowns.

"It feels great to be honored," Ralph IV said. "I love the game of football and have worked very hard to excel on and off the field throughout my college career. To be selected the College Player of the Year is a blessing and humbling experience."

After finishing an internship with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Ralph IV will pursue a Master's Degree in computer science and look to continue his playing career professionally.
